FAQ
What are mobile water services?
Mobile water services are temporary or supplementary water treatment. These fully integrated portable water treatment systems can be quickly deployed and commissioned on-site, delivering high-quality water precisely when and where you need it for emergencies, planned maintenance, or to boost existing capacity.
How long can I rent a mobile system?
Veolia Water Technologies offers mobile water treatment services from 1 day up to 7 years. Our flexible agreements can define the rental period with an option to extend, operating on a 'Pay as you Go' principle for as long as you require the service.
Can mobile water services be deployed in remote or regional areas of Australia?
Yes. All systems are designed for remote operation. Veolia Water Technologies’ ANZ network is equipped to deliver and commission systems in both regional and remote locations.
What types of water can be treated using mobile water services?
Veolia’s mobile water services can treat various water types, including groundwater, surface water, stormwater, process wastewater, and seawater, depending on the chosen technology.
How fast can a mobile unit be deployed to a facility?
In most cases, our mobile water treatment systems can be deployed within 24 hours. Emergency mobilisation is also available, subject to logistics and compatibility.
Who operates the mobile system?
Veolia manages mobilisation, installation, and commissioning of the assets at your site. We then provide customer training for daily operation. We support this with regular service visits to monitor, maintain, and ensure optimal equipment performance.
What is included in a service agreement with Veolia Water Technologies?
As an output performance-based service, we guarantee the treatment of process and wastewater to an agreed specification, detailed in our proposal. This is based on working with you prior to mobilisation to understand the required treatment technology and performance.
Our pricing is normally presented in clear categories:
- Mobilisation, installation, commissioning, and training: These costs cover transporting the equipment to your site and getting the system operational, including all initial setup.
- Weekly rental: This includes equipment rental, service support, proactive and reactive maintenance, spare parts, and consumables. It’s a comprehensive bundled service to ensure optimal equipment operation.
- Demobilisation, disconnection, and equipment removal: These costs cover returning the equipment to our depot.
What safety standards does Veolia follow?
Health and safety are fundamental to Veolia's operational philosophy. Our goal is always zero accidents, ensuring everyone returns home safely. We maintain internal standards that conform to both national and international requirements. Additionally, when working on your site, we collaborate to ensure our service team fully meets and surpasses your local requirements.
Case Study: Sustainable Water Management Solution for Ezz Steel (Egypt)
The company: Ezz Steel, leading steel producer in the Middle East and Africa, with an impressive 7-million-ton annual capacity.
The challenge: Ezz Steel faced significant water management challenges in water-scarce Egypt. They needed to shift from relying on Nile River water to a more sustainable solution for their cooling operations, all while maintaining production efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The solution: Veolia Water Technologies addressed this by implementing a comprehensive mobile water solution in two phases. We provided a system capable of treating 16,000 cubic meters of water per day, comprising 7 brackish water reverse osmosis systems and 2 ultrafiltration containerised units. This allowed Ezz Steel to meet its full process water demand independently of the Nile, while also improving water quality and reducing chemical usage by 75%.
The result:
- Optimised cooling operations
- Maximised water reuse
- Preservation of Egypt's vital freshwater resources while ensuring business continuity for Ezz Steel
